Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers to the questions we hear most often about elevators, escalators, delivery, approvals and after-sales service.
Pricing
Why is your quotation higher than another supplier's?
A quotation should be compared on what is included: the equipment specification, installation, testing and commissioning, authority approvals, training at handover, and the first maintenance period. MASSAED quotes are itemised so you can see exactly what you are paying for and compare like with like. We are also happy to walk through the specification line by line with you.
Can you give a price before a site survey?
We can give an indicative range from the building type, number of stops, load and speed. A firm price needs a site survey, because shaft dimensions, pit depth, overhead and power supply all affect the equipment and the installation method. The survey is free and usually takes under an hour.
Delivery
How long will delivery and installation take?
It depends on the product and the site. After the site survey and an approved specification, we confirm a delivery schedule for the equipment and an installation programme that fits your construction timeline. Standard products are faster than customised cabins and finishes. Your sales engineer will give you a written programme with the proposal.
Approvals
Who handles the government and civil defence approvals?
MASSAED prepares the technical submissions and coordinates the inspections required for the elevator or escalator to be put into service. The client or contractor provides the building-side documents and access. Our proposal states which approvals are included so there are no surprises at handover.
Handover
What happens at handover?
Handover follows testing and commissioning and the required inspections. We hand over the unit with its documentation, train your facility staff on safe operation and emergency procedures, and start the warranty and maintenance period stated in the contract.
Maintenance
Do I have to take a maintenance contract with you?
A maintenance contract is not compulsory, but regular preventive maintenance is what keeps an elevator safe, reliable and compliant. MASSAED maintains multiple brands, so you can consolidate all units in a building under one contract with one response number, regardless of who installed them.
Can you maintain an elevator that another company installed?
Yes. MASSAED services elevators and escalators from the major international brands as an independent, multi-brand maintenance provider. We start with a condition assessment of the existing unit and recommend any repairs or modernisation before taking it under contract.
Warranty
What does the warranty cover?
The warranty period and what it covers are stated in your contract. It typically covers manufacturing defects in the equipment and our installation workmanship, provided the unit is maintained as specified. Damage from misuse, vandalism, water ingress or third-party work is excluded, as with any elevator supplier.
Other
Why choose MASSAED rather than the brand's own company?
MASSAED has installed and maintained elevators and escalators across the UAE since 2008, with branches in every emirate and in Riyadh. As an independent, multi-brand company we recommend the right product for your building rather than one catalogue, and you deal with a local team for sales, installation and service.
